Pink Cancer

Happy October!

October is breast cancer aware month.

This is always a bitter sweet reminder for me.

Both my mom and birth mom have had breast cancer.

I lost my mom when i was 19. After many years of living with cancer.
Lots of ups and downs.
Still to early for her to go.
I miss her and think about her all the time.
I know she is with me everyday.

I met my birth mom about 4 years ago.
During this time she has battled and beat breast cancer! She still has lymphadema.
After her latest mamogram she is 2 years cancer free.
woo hoo!

I have done race for the cure on and off  for years.
It is always such a fabulous gathering of support for survivers, and the people who are representing who they are walking for.

She's a beauty!

So say a pray for anyone you know that is going through any kind of cancer.

We and they need our prayers.

oxoxox,
Jessi

thats so sad about your mom JEsse. I have a friend who just ahd a masectomy and reconstruction last year and it was very difficult to watch her go through it, though she did it sooo bravely! She is doing fantastic now and has the sweetest curliest hair, which I think is adorable and she hates!
anyways.. I'm all for supporting breast cancer awareness in whatever manner we can! Your post was perfect.

Jessi,
Sorry to hear about your mom losing her battle and at such a young age.
Glad to hear your birth mom is doing good. My sister had breast cancer at 35..she has been cancer free for 12 years!!! She does have lymphodema in her right arm but it doesn't slow her down. She has a beautiful 6 year old daughter she has to chase around. Think Pink (~~)Julie

Great reminder post Jessi! I am sorry to hear that you lost your mother on breast cancer. I lost both my mother and little brother on (other types) of cancer, so I know how hard that is. This month I will have a give away in benefit of the Dutch Pink ribbon cancer society, as I did last year. With more research the chance to survive will grow and grow.Let's hope that with our donation the future will be breast cancer free, to start with!

Hi Jessi, thanks for joining me in the trip to Mexico. My sister went last week and found gorgeous silver crosses about 8" x 6", that we will use for a Christmas Craft Show in December.

Hope you have a good weekend.

We just found out on Thursday that my father in law has lung cancer. We think it was found early and treatment looks positive but he is 76 years old so we aren't sure how he will respond to chemo. What a beautiful post.

A beautifully written heartfelt post. I don't know many people these days who are not in some way affected by cancer. My mother-in-law died 4-1/2 years ago and my uncle exactly three months later. It is hard to watch people who are so vibrant all of a sudden taken down by the disease. Prayers and blessings, Tammy

So sorry about your mom! Mine has been going through breast cancer for the last 9 years. She is still fighting and surviving but there are "spots" now all over her body! Cancer sucks and we loose too many people to it! God be with you and your birth mom and make sure you get your mammie's grammed!!
