Congrats! on your 100th post- and wow- that Deck the Halls bounty (coming and going) was pretty nice!
Worst present: my MIL bought my 7-year-old daughter (her granddaughter!) a jar of expired pickles- just because the kid likes pickles, c'mon.

Oh what a cute banner you have at the top of your blog! Love it!

The worst gift has to be fruitcake... I HATE fruitcake! LOL!

Happy 100th!

P.s.- your order is on its way... I was a bit late mailing it with the holiday this past week. xoxo

I can't really think of a worst gift.
I guess I don't have one. I love everything anybody buys/makes me. It is the thought that counts :-)

How about a chunk of cheese? I'm not kidding...it was at a Christmas party where we exchanged gifts and I rec'd cheese. I'm still laughing about that gift!

Congrats on your 100 post. Loved seeing your ornament swappies. The book you made is fabulous. This will have to be my daughter's worst gift. The year she went to kindergarten her grandfather teased her about having to wear diapers to school (she didn't, that's why it was a joke). For Christmas he wrapped up a diaper for her. She laughed until she looked inside and there was a mixture of peanut butter and chocolate chunks in it. AT that point she threw the diaper. She thought it was the real thing! This was a memory maker, but dd didn't think it was much of a gift!

Hi Jessi! Sign me up for that giveaway if you would!! My worst gift was when I was 17 and my step-grandmother gave me a Dancing Flower (an ugly stuffed flower that wiggles when someone claps near it!) My relatives kept trying to embarass me by clapping around it all night!
Anyway, congrats on your 100th post! hope you had a good Thanksgiving! xo natalea

The worst gift? There have been several over the years, but nothing in particular crosses my mind - I've just found the good in all of them.

Hey congratulations on your 100th post Jessi!!! Isn't it amazing how time flies by so quickly? I love your Blissful Elements banner too. She has such neat vintage images! OK, let's see - my worst gift was probably one of those big bars of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate from my in-laws. That was all they gave me that year! And to top it off, I HATE dark chocolate!

Monica said...

hhhmmm the worst gift....
I assume it couldnt have been TERRIBLE because I cant really remember one. My hubby always gets me great stuff so it would have to be from someone else. I will say a few years in a row we received these made in OREGON gift boxes, with me not eating nuts and all that garb .it really was no fun for me!

oh geesh! my adult son gave me a head scratching wizard one year. it was a battery operated wizard with 8 legs. you were supposed to put it on top of your head and turn it on. the worst of the worst in my opinion lol

Last year for Christmas, my husband gave me a bag of organic flax seed. For real. I couldn't imagine what was in the heavy package! Imagine my disappointment to find 3 pounds of fiber. He thought it was hysterical, but I made him promise NO GROCERIES this year!!!

Congrats on your 100th post! I love coming here to see all that goes on!

Hmmm...I think the worst gift that I have received was a garlic clove peeler. When I opened I thought at first it was one of those chinese thumb torture thingys but then my aunt proclaimed (with my delight...after I put my thumbs in it) that it was a silconey, rubber thing that you pop a clove of garlic in and rub it and viola! instant clean garlic clove! I was stunned...I was 14! Never understood but oh well!

Funny how as I was reading the comments I couldn't think of any bad gifts until the Winnie the Pooh reminded me that a co-worker gave me a pewter pooh brooch and a ceramic pooh magnet one year. I don't have any idea why she would think I would like it, or wear it. I thought for a LONG time what I do-say-wear-act that would make her think..."oh, Amy would LOVE this!" LOL! Now if it were vintage...lol!

Anyway, love a chance at your give away!

My husband gave me a scum buster on our first "married" christmas together. He wanted to make my shower cleaning "easier". 10 years later we still joke about it!

My step grandmother used to give us girls horrible gifts. Yucky smelling "old lady" bath products, huge bow hair clips....basically dollar store finds! The dreaded "ALTA Present" (That was her name). Every year we got these kind of gifts! We had to pretend to like them. :o)

Congrats Jessi!!!

Somewhere along the line my father got the idea I LOVED chocolate covered cherries, when the truth is I don't even like them! But, he thought it was really special to give them to me year after year for probably 30 years. I never told him that I didn't care for them. He passsed away this past summer, so the worst gift will be that I don't get that cellophane wrapped box of chocolate covered cherries this year. Sorry... I think I should have posted something funnier and actually it was funny all those years.I'll miss him and this gift this Christmas, but mostly it is a sweet memory.~dale

Hi Jessi!

Congrats on you 100th post!!

Okay, so, my worst gift?? One year at a company gift exchange, everyone was opening really nice gifts... chocolates, pretty ornaments, fancy bubble bath, gift certificates... I opened an industrial glue gun. hmmm.

Well, I did use it though, so I guess I can't complain!!

Hugs!

My grandfather, then 81, bought me a thigh master by Suzanne Sommers! I was shocked, embarrassed and we all laughed hysterically that he would give that kind of gift. He said he was only trying to help. Talk about honesty! Thanks Poppy!

I got a most ugly sweater from my mother-in-law, while she was still my "boyfriends mother", so I felt I had to wear it.....so sad. I would love to win a sign, so cute!

Congrats on your 100th post, dear sweet Jessi! So my worst gift? I was on a bowling league and at Christmas we did a gift exchange. I ALWAYS got the worst gift...some kind of bowling karma, I guess. The worst of the worst was a small lunch sack filled with what looked like someone unloading all their old "trial size" foods. Unbelievable! :-)

Oh and thank you thank you thank YOU for the sweety bag of glitter you gave to all us Bellas! What a very lovely thing to do, Jessi.

Hugs and Happy Holidays,
Michelle

Hi Jessi,
I received the worst gift ever and it came 9 months after my son was born and it came from my husband; he got me one of those horrible 1970's exercizers that hook onto a doorknob and you attach each rope to your appendages (legs and hands) and then you pull them and they are supposed to turn you into a hard body. That was my "good" gift in 1976 and I went into the bathroom and I cried and cried for hours. I never let him know how badly it hurt my feelings.

Oh, my sister in law for 3 years in a row would buy me big gold HOOP EAR-RINGS and I am allergic to gold and it makes my ears swell up and I break out in hives so every year I would tell her I was allergic to them and she would keep the ear-rings and also the gift I gave her. She always said "I will get you something later to replace the ear-rings" BUT, she never did.

Guess what my sister in law's favorite ear-rings are:
Huge, hoop ear-rings!!!

Enter me in your giveaway please.
:) Bren

We had a family ornament swap instead of doing big gifts for the adults. I searched for days and hundreds of stores to get the perfect ornament for the name I picked. My sister-in-law had my name and gave me a 10cent plastic ornament. I was sooooo disappointed.

My grandma send me & each of my girls & husband $5 each when she can afford more...she says I should be able to get something nice...that can't even get me 2 gallons of gas! ;)Renee

Hi! Love your blog! Found it thru Ele's!

Worst gift ever? Only once did I NOT like something. My dear grandmother crocheted me a red shawl when I was about 20 & I WAS NOT a shawl type of girl! But I kept it, realizing how much work & love she put into it. Like you, I turned it into something I love ~ I use it EVERY Christmas as a tree skirt on one of my smaller trees! I cherish it!
