Bass Pro Shop? I can't believe it! What an unlikely place to have that adorable doll house. It reminds me of the one I had when I was a little girl. What is this one made out of? Mine was metal. Have fun filling it up!

What a great find! What's funny is I saw the same kind as a kid at the auction and we didn't win it or something-but it was definitely metal. As a grownup, I built my own! That's one thing I haven't shared on my blog-thanks for the inspiration.

BTW, where is the baby rattle planter you showed in a previous post? I love it but didn't see it in your Etsy!

Great score! I also scored the exact same metal house at a garage sale last summer - except the outside of mine is 1/2 brick 1/2 stone, and the chimney has flowering vines going up it. Can't wait to see you decorate yours - keep us all updated!!

It IS the same as the one I had when I was little. I remember those soldiers. I had little a little plastic crib, and playpen, and more! I wish I still had it!

Hi Sweet Jessi! Add me to the growing list....that was my doll house too....EXACTLY! All that is missing is the little pink plastic furniture that I spent endless hours arranging and re-arranging. I know that this is where I developed my love for interior design and decorating from. I swear, if that little prize was in my house, I'd be playing with it right now! Enjoy your score - and thanks for the wonderful memories you brought back tonight for me ~ xoxo Joy

Oh My Jessi! That is sooooo cute! My friend across the street had a similar one....not from the fifties though, more like the 70's! I remember that it was white with green shutters! She was bored with it, but I always wanted to play with it when I went over there.

Jessi,
This was my doll house when I was just eight years old. The year was 1956, and all the furniture was made out of plastic. I loved it. It still looks lovely. I loved growing up in the fifties.

Have fun decorating this little house, and thanks for the walk down Memory Lane.

Jessi,
I asked my mom about the doll house. She said that in 1956 that doll house along with beautiful toys that had won awards were featured on a merry-go-round in FAO Schwartz window in New York City. We had gone into Manhattan at Christmas and of course we had to look into all the windows.

I thought you might like the story to go along with your doll house.

Hi Jessi: My name is Carrie. I am Diane's sister from Saturday Finds! Diane pointed me in the direction of your blog...and I just love it. Diane and I had a doll house just like the one you just got! What memories. I have been following your love of all things Barbie too. I will never forget my first bubble haired striped swimsuit Barbie. I was recently in California visiting my sister and came across a large black and white Barbie Retro poster at a garage sale! I thought of you, but it was too large to ship) lol

I am hosting a giveaway and hope you might take a peek at my blog.

Nice to meet you.
Stay Cozy, carrie
